Happy V-Day Eslovers!

Today is the day when love is louder than life itself. The day when millions of people spend money on gifts and a nice dinner. The day when we are supposed to show our affection even more. I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be sarcastic here. I think Valentine’s Day is a special day, but I also think we should all treat each other right on a regular basis, not just once a year. It is also nice to have a special date to celebrate love.

Valentine’s Day has never been about my previous boyfriends. In fact, I have this tradition with my high school girlfriends and we have a date each year for the V-day. That’s how I always remember this day. And that’s why it is so magical to me. I get to celebrate all types of love, not just the romantic love everyone celebrates (which is great, don’t get me wrong). So I usually celebrate this day in three different ways: with my family, my girlfriends and my boyfriend (If I’m dating at the moment).

This year I decided to throw a little Valentines Day party for everyone who wants to celebrate love. It will be more like a cocktail thing so I’m seriously thinking about wearing the maroon romper from this post. Isn’t it lovely? I just love the color and I think it will be a perfect match for Valentines Day.

This photo shoot was part of a very special collaboration with a team of talented people from Louisiana. Let me just start with the person behind the camera. Kaitlyn is an incredible photographer who made this collaboration happen along with Sarah who was basically directing the photo shoot. We took the pictures at Mouton Plantation, which is a beautiful and vintage Bed & Breakfast place. Both outfits were from Soul Chic Boutique, an online store based in Lafayette, Louisiana. We had beautiful bouquets and this gorgeous flower headband by La Jonction Florist & Gifts.

One of my favorite things about this photo shoot was the makeup! I loved my makeup that day and I didn’t want to take it off lol. Makeup was done by Abby Manuel, and let me tell you she is so far the best makeup artist I’ve met in Louisiana. I’m not kidding.
