French Lips with Bourjois

Bonjour! Fashion month is over and so is summer season. Lessons learned from fashion month will be told in a different article; for now let’s stick to one of my current obsessions: matte lipstick. As many of you know, I love experimenting with new brands and products to make sure they meet my needs. For some reason I’m attracted to french brands. I’m not saying I’m exclusive, but I find a certain appeal that brings me back to them.

For the fall season, I always try to blend in with fall colors for my lips. I shop most of my beauty products and cosmetics at Notino. They seriously have every single brand you can think of (I’m not even kidding) and affordable prices. I was looking for a maroon matte lipstick, and found a couple of great options. Among them was the rouge edition velvet by Bourjois. I thought about getting shade #8 only (Grand Cru) because that’s the color I was looking for. However, I took a risk and ordered three more shades with fall colors I didn’t have and wanted to try.

I don’t usually order more than one lipstick when I’m trying a new brand just because I’m scared I won’t like the brand/product. In this case, the risk was worth it. I ended up loving all my new shades and especially the brand. Rouge edition velvet is very pigmented. If you don’t wipe your lips, the color will stay for more than 1 day. I love how I wake up with rosey lips when I wear this lipstick the day before. The lipsticks are also creamy, unlike other matte lipsticks that feel like glue after you apply them.

I will show you how each shade looks on me so you can decide whether or not these tones will match your tastes and personality. Let me start from lightest to darkest.

Ole flamingo!

Let me know if you ever try any of these colors, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Funny fact: These pictures were taken by my assistant because my photographer was traveling at the time πŸ˜‰ It was definitely an interesting photoshoot lol.
